REPORTING ANIMAL ABUSE IN THE MEMPHIS METRO AREA

If your neighbor neglects or abuses their pet, REPORT it. If no one arrives, CALL again. KEEP calling until you get action! Don't just assume it is being handled. Call and ask HOW it was handled.

How can you help?

DONATE!

Animal rescue is NOT done for profit.  It is done out of love for the pet.  Unfortunately, money becomes a deciding factor when making the decision to take on another rescue animal.  Each animal we rescue costs us around $400, IF the dog has NO medical problems.  Most often, rescue animals come with multiple medical issues.  Heartworm treatment can run anywhere from $400 to $600 dollars, broken bones $300 to $700 dollars, skin conditions can run up to $300 dollars, etc.  EVERY ANIMAL PUTS US FURTHER AND FURTHER IN DEBT.  In order to continue to help these wonderful creatures, we need YOUR HELP TOO!!   ANY amount of money you would like to contribute to our organization would be greatly appreciated.  100% OF DONATIONS RECEIVED ARE USED STRICTLY FOR THE CARE OF THE ANIMALS.   If you would like to make a donation, please contact us and we can assist you in any way possible.

VOLUNTEER!

Founded by Donna Orman in February 2012, Blue Sky Dog Rescue is 100% staffed by passionate volunteers who are dedicated to dogs and fun! Simply put, we rescue - rehabilitate - rehome dogs in need and have a blast doing it. We are proud to support a no-kill methodology and nothing touches our heart like a successful adoption when a BSDR pup is seen in the loving arms of his/her new forever family. We ALWAYS need volunteers to help with adoption events, dog walking, fostering, transporting dogs, event planning, administrative assistance, communications/social media...and of course...the all important fundraising! Interested in joining the fun and helping our pups?  We'd love to have you as part of our team!

FOSTER!

Be a BSDR Foster! If you are interested, please fill out a foster application. We are fortunate to have several wonderful fosters that work with BSDR. Reliable foster homes are extremely important because they act as an extension of BSDR, temporarily caring for any rescue dogs before they go on to their forever home. The more fosters we have, the more pups we can help. People are often afraid to foster because they feel they will become to attached to the pup and won't be able to adopt him/her out. But fostering is so vital and so worth it! Anyone that has a love for animals can foster.
